Villa Despina offers accommodation in a traditional Lindian house located on a peaceful side street which, although away from the main thoroughfare, is in the heart of the renowned village of Lindos. The house has been thoroughly repaired and renovated to exacting standards and the owners have lovingly created a present day adaptation of Lindian design which incorporates all modern comforts. The main living area in Lindian houses is called the sala and the sala at Villa Despina includes an open fire and well equipped kitchen area, two raised Lindian style sleeping areas (sprung mattresses set into elevated sections of a raised platform which is accessed via stairs) and a bathroom with bathtub and shower. There is a further double bedroom with its own bathroom. Villa Despina offers modern amenities including full cooker, washing machine and air conditioning. In keeping with Lindian tradition, both the main sala and the separate bedroom open off the courtyard, which is cobbled with choklakia (pebble mosaics).Villa Despina comfortably accommodates 4-6 and is ideal for families with older children or groups of friends holidaying together.The village of Lindos with its whitewashed maze of winding lanes is on the other side of the courtyard’s big wooden gate but the villa is extremely quiet and private. The closest beach is at St Paul’s Bay and is around 5 minutes’ walk away.
